Care of your Damascus knife

Because these are high carbon steel requiring less sharpening, and a longer lasting edge, there is a little care that is involved.  This applies to all high carbon steel knives.  

*Keep Damascus clean and free of moisture*  When not in use, dry and put it away.  You can also add a very fine bit of light oil to the blade with a cloth for long term storage.
*We recommend that you clean the blade immediately after use with acidic foods like apples, steak, or after touching the blade with your fingers.  Small spots of rust can develop.  
*The best way to quickly address rust is with soft scrub and a Q-tip wen you first see it appear.  
*If you ever develop pitting in the blade, it is especially important to keep those spots clean so more material is not removed.
